Hezbollah Attacks Israel with Drones and Missiles after Cross-Border Strikes Kill Three
Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group backed by Iran, announced on Saturday that it had attacked northern Israel using drones and guided missiles in response to Israeli strikes that killed three people, including two Hezbollah members.
The Israeli army claimed to have intercepted a drone and struck the sources of anti-tank missile fire from Lebanon.
Hezbollah targeted the Al Manara military command and a Golani Brigade gathering.
An Israeli air strike on a Lebanese village reportedly wounded 11 people.
Israeli fighter jets struck a Hezbollah military site in southern Lebanon on Saturday, according to the Israeli army.
Hezbollah later announced the deaths of two of its fighters from the villages of Kafr Kila and Khiam, who were killed near the border and mourned as "martyrs on the road to Jerusalem." Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have escalated since the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza began in May 2021, and have intensified since the bombing of Iran's Damascus consulate in April, which Israel is widely believed to have carried out.
