Hamas Alters Demands in Hostage Negotiations with Israel: State Department
On Monday, Matthew Miller, the State Department spokesperson, stated during a press briefing that Palestinian militant group Hamas has shifted its requirements in the ongoing hostage negotiations between Israel and Hamas, which are being facilitated by Egypt and Qatar.
Miller emphasized that the US will persist in advocating for an accord that results in the release of hostages who were captured on October 7 and a ceasefire in Gaza.
In a separate development, Miller announced that the US has obtained a report from former French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna regarding the United Nations aid agency for Palestinians, UNRWA.
The US is currently assessing the contents of the report.
