Al Nassr Overcomes Al Fayha and Strengthens Its Position as Runners-Up
Senegalese sensation Sadio Mane scored twice to lead Al Nassr from a first-half deficit to a 3-1 victory over their guests Al Fayha in the Saudi Professional League match held on Friday.
Contrary to expectations, Al Fayha took the lead six minutes after kickoff in the match that took place at the Mrsool Park in Riyadh. This early goal came when Anthony Nwakaeme passed the ball to Fashion Sakala on the left flank. Sakala then made his way into the box and fired a powerful shot past Al Nassr's goalkeeper.
Al Nassr was awarded a penalty in the 41st minute after a lengthy review by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system for a foul on Sultan Al Ghannam inside the box. However, Mane missed the opportunity to equalize as he sent the ball over the bar.
After several attempts in the second half, Al Nassr managed to score three goals within ten minutes. Abdul-Ilah Al Omari tied the game at the 72nd minute, followed by Mane's consecutive goals in the 76th and 82nd minutes.
This win brings Al Nassr's total to 68 points, securing their second-place position in the Saudi Professional League. In contrast, Al Fayha's points remain at 35, dropping them to the 11th position on goal difference below Al Khaleej.
