Economy Minister: The Crown Prince's Patronage of the World Economic Forum Meeting Spurs Sustainable Development

The esteemed Minister of Economy and Planning, Professor Faisal bin Fadel Al Ibrahim, affirmed that Riyadh's hosting of the special meeting of the World Economic Forum under the theme "International Cooperation, Growth, and Energy for Development," sponsored by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister may God protect him, is an extension of the distinguished historical partnership between the Kingdom and the Forum.
This partnership aims to enhance the prospects of international cooperation and move towards a world of greater sustainability and prosperity for all.

"The Crown Prince's patronage of the special meeting underscores the wise leadership's keenness and commitment to the success of the event, reflecting the Kingdom's pivotal role in finding supportive solutions to the challenges in the global economy. It also represents a unique opportunity to demonstrate the importance of Vision 2030 as a successful economic model that fosters innovation," he said.

He highlighted the importance of the forum in advancing global efforts towards sustainable economic development and achieving developmental integration. The forum also keeps pace with economic changes and opens new horizons for cooperation and joint development among communities, as the Kingdom persistently seeks to enhance international cooperation and economic growth for communities in accordance with Vision 2030.

Furthermore, he referred to Riyadh's hosting of this global event as stemming from its status as a pivotal location, being the capital of one of the world's largest economies, in addition to its strategic position connecting three continents, which enables close collaboration with both developed and emerging markets. This, based on the Kingdom's leading role in addressing global challenges, enhances cooperation among nations to achieve their long-term targets in various fields.

His Excellency added: "We have clear messages and objectives that we aim to convey to the world through this special meeting, which emphasize the Kingdom's commitment to global issues, including the pillars of the meeting: international cooperation, growth, and energy for development. It also highlights the exceptional Saudi hospitality culture, in addition to showcasing the numerous achievements witnessed by the Kingdom amidst an unprecedented economic transformation journey. This transformation has ushered in a new stage of growth and stability across various sectors, as well as opened new horizons and diverse opportunities in promising sectors such as technology, mining, energy, and digital technology, attracting assorted global investments."

The Minister of Economy and Planning drew attention to the significance of hosting the forum in the Kingdom, highlighting its concrete steps in taking the initiative to explore opportunities and contribute to shaping the future of the world. It also aims to seek joint cooperation priorities in different sustainable development fields and translate them in a way that meets future aspirations towards achieving prosperity.
