BIE Secretary-General Dimitri Kerkentzis Visits Riyadh to Review Expo 2030 Preparations and Submit Registration File
The Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Dimitri Kerkentzis, visited Riyadh for a four-day trip to review the preparations for Expo 2030 and coordinate the submission of the registration file.
This was his first visit since Saudi Arabia was elected as the host country in November 2023.
Since then, high-level preparations have been underway to create a detailed implementation plan, including legislative and financial measures, the Expo site master plan, and legacy plans.
Once the file is submitted and reviewed by member states, the General Assembly can officially register Expo 2030 Riyadh, allowing Saudi Arabia to invite international participants and begin preparations in earnest.
Saudi Arabia, under its commitment to the International Bureau of Exhibitions and its member states, is preparing for Expo 2030 Riyadh with excitement.
The exhibition, themed "Era of Change: Together for an Enlightened Tomorrow," aims to bring together 197 countries and 29 international organizations from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031.
In June, Saudi Arabia will present a progress report to the Bureau International des Expositions during its 174th General Assembly.
