Bernie Sanders Rebuts Netanyahu: Criticizing Israeli Policies Not Anti-Semitic
US Senator Bernie Sanders has disputed Prime Minister Netanyahu's claims that criticism of Israeli government policies towards Palestinians is anti-Semitic.
Protests against Israeli military funding and the ongoing offensive in Gaza at US universities resulted in over 80 arrests.
Sanders maintains that such criticism is not anti-Semitic.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) accused Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu of using anti-Semitism to distract from his government's policies during the military offensive in Gaza.
Sanders pointed out that Netanyahu's government has killed over 34,000 Palestinians, wounded over 78,000 (70% of whom were women and children), destroyed over 221,000 housing units, and blocked humanitarian aid, leaving over a million people homeless and facing malnutrition and famine.
Sanders emphasized that it is not anti-Semitic to criticize these actions.
In his speech, Senator Bernie Sanders condemned antisemitism as a form of bigotry that has caused immense harm to millions of people.
