Arab-Islamic Ministers Urge International Sanctions on Israel for Violations in Gaza, West Bank
The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, presided over by Saudi Arabia's Prince Faisal bin Farhan, called on the international community to impose sanctions on Israel for violating international law and humanitarian law in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
The ministers urged the activation of international legal tools to hold Israel accountable for war crimes and stressed the need to stop settler terrorism.
The meeting also discussed intensifying joint Arab and Islamic action to end the conflict in Gaza, protect civilians, and achieve recognition of a Palestinian state.
A group of ministers and officials discussed implementing the two-state solution and recognizing the State of Palestine with borders from June 4, 1967, and East Jerusalem as its capital.
They also emphasized the importance of Gaza as part of the occupied Palestinian territory and rejected any attempts to displace Palestinians or military operations in Rafah.
The ministers expressed concern over measures against peaceful demonstrators in Western countries and Israeli crimes against Palestinians.
Participants included Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Al-Safadi, Egypt's Sameh Shoukry, Türkiye's Hakan Fidan, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Hissein Brahim Taha, the Palestine Liberation Organization's Hussein Al Sheikh, and Qatar's Dr. Mohammed Al Khulaifi.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Saudi Arabia's foreign minister, discussed various topics during meetings on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh.
He talked about strengthening bilateral relations with Algeria and Norway, focusing on common interests.
With Norway, they discussed the latest developments in Gaza and efforts to address them.
Meetings with Malaysia and Sri Lanka also covered enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, as well as exchanging views on regional and international issues.
