38 Emergency Cases of Firework Injuries During Eid Al-Fitr Celebrations: Children Suffer Most
During the recent Eid Al-Fitr celebrations, the Ministry of Health reported that a total of 38 emergency cases involving injuries caused by fireworks had been recorded in hospital emergency departments.
The majority of the victims were children under the age of 15 years.
These children sustained various injuries, including physical burns, eye and ear damage, wounds, and fractures.
Some also swallowed foreign objects.
Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaali, the ministry spokesperson, expressed concern over the use of fireworks during the festivities.
He emphasized that the joyous occasion could easily turn into a painful experience due to firework-related injuries.
To prevent such incidents, Dr. Al-Abdulaali urged parents and guardians to keep fireworks away from children to ensure their safety and protect their health.
