The rose-picking season starts around late March or early April, lasting 35-45 days, with an average of 70,000 roses picked daily.

The event has become a significant tourism festival in Saudi Arabia, attracting thousands of visitors and tourists.

The 19th Taif Rose Festival is taking place from now until May 12, themed "Qetaf" or "Picking Time." The decorations for the flower carpet are inspired by the intricate designs of Taif's ancient structures, such as Al-Kaki Palace and King Saud Palace.

Preparations for the festival began early, with the Taif Rose Cooperative Society setting participation criteria to showcase Taif roses and their production process.

The festival offers a platform for producers, experts, and entrepreneurs to connect and boost the important rose sector.

Highlights include a rose and flower path, product stalls, a goods market, government booths, and an agricultural nursery.

The 19th Taif Rose Festival features a giant flower carpet of 5206 square meters made from 1,026,491 flower and rose seedlings.

Interactive fountain shows, national tunes, artwork, flower arrangements, and hanging floral baskets are among the attractions.

The festival, themed 'Qetaf' or 'Picking Time,' runs until May 12 and coincides with the harvest season.

The significant turnout indicates the success of the rose production sector.

Additionally, a five-day Taifrosethon event began on May 7 to encourage entrepreneurship in the region with technological solutions for the rose industry.

The Flower Carpet event in Taif, Saudi Arabia, features decorative patterns inspired by local heritage.

The event offers skills training and workshops on trade, cultural heritage, and tourism.

Teams of three to five members can enter to win cash prizes of $2,666, $1,866, and $1,333 for first, second, and third place, respectively.

Taif is known for producing over 200 million roses each season, with each tree yielding around 250 roses daily during the 45-day harvest season.

Taif roses are famous for their sweet fragrance and vibrant pink hues.

Roses grown in Taif's high-altitude climate flourish in the cool temperatures and rich soil.

Harvested by hand to maintain quality, their petals are collected for various uses.
