Dutch affiliates of major accounting firms Deloitte, PwC, and EY have been fined a total of $8.5 million following revelations that hundreds of staff members shared answers on internal training exams.

The misconduct, which spanned several years, involved improper sharing of answers and manipulation of test results.

Regulatory authorities have imposed these penalties to uphold the integrity of professional standards within the accounting industry and to deter future violations.
