UNESCO, AlUla Collaborate to Promote Interultural Dialogue through Training Program
The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization has initiated its first training program on intercultural dialogue in partnership with the Royal Commission for AlUla.
The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has launched a pioneering training program focused on intercultural dialogue.
This initiative is set to be conducted in collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla, as part of the broader 'Fostering Positive Social Transformations in AlUla' project.
The program is specifically aimed at professionals engaged in the management of museums and heritage sites.
According to recent reports from the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), sessions under this training program are scheduled to commence every Thursday starting September 18, 2025, and will conclude on October 16, 2025.
These sessions will be held from noon to 2 p.m. GMT+2 via Zoom.
The program encompasses critical concepts in intercultural communication theory alongside practical applications designed to facilitate dialogue under the 'Live Museum' model.
This particular model advocates for the use of museums and heritage sites as platforms for cultural exchange, leveraging heritage and handicrafts to bridge diverse cultures.
UNESCO has emphasized that museum and World Heritage site representatives—particularly those involved in public engagement, learning, and education—are encouraged to apply for participation.
The deadline for application submission is September 5, 2025.
Those selected will be notified one week prior to the commencement of the course.
