Panama is one of the countries that will benefit from the donation of vaccines against COVID-19 that the United States Government will make to regions of America, Asia and Africa, through the Covax mechanism.
The White House reported Thursday that the United States will donate 80 million doses to be distributed globally by the end of June.
The White House brief detailed how the distribution of the first 25 million doses will be, of which 19 million will be delivered through the Covax mechanism:
Around 6 million for American countries via Covax: Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, Bolivia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama , Haiti, Dominican Republic.
Around 7 million for Asian countries via Covax: India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Maldives, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Taiwan and the Pacific Islands.
Around 5 million for African countries via Covax.
About 6 million : Mexico, Canada, Republic of Korea, Gaza, Ukraine, Kosovo, Egypt, Jordan, India, Iraq, Yemen, and UN frontline workers.
