Hugo Santillan passed away Thursday morning after sustaining injuries during a July 20th fight in Buenos Aires. The 23-year-old from Argentina completed the 10 round match, raising his hands before collapsing in the ring. He was rushed to the hospital with swelling of the brain which continued to get worse during the week. He underwent surgery for a blood clot in his brain, ultimately dying of cardiac arrest. Santillan is the second boxer to die of a brain injury after Russian boxer Maxim Dadashev died Tuesday at just 28 years old. RT America’s Steve Christakos joins Scottie Nell Hughes to discuss.
