Saudi Students Bring Home Three Bronze Medals from 2024 Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad
Two students, Hassan Abdul Jalil Al-Khalifa and Ali Salah Al-Moussa, from Saudi Arabia, brought home bronze medals for their country at the 2024 Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad held in China from April 20-27.
With their achievements, Saudi Arabia's medal count rose to three silver and 21 bronze.
A total of 150 students from 27 countries were participating in the 58th session of the Olympiad.
Six students from various educational institutions in Saudi Arabia represented their country in the competition.
These students were carefully selected by the King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, also known as Mawhiba.
The students underwent a series of forums over the course of two years to be considered for the team.
Mawhiba, in collaboration with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, provided training to the students in preparation for the Olympiad.
