Saudi Program Expands Support in Rural Communities
The Kingdom's efforts to promote economic and social stability in rural areas have led to an increase in the number of beneficiaries under the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program.
Riyadh: The Saudi Reef, also known as the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program, has expanded its support to reach 87,235 beneficiaries across the Kingdom.
This expansion is part of a broader effort by the nation's leadership to promote economic and social stability in rural areas and to assist agricultural workers and families engaged in cottage industries.
According to recent reports from the Saudi Press Agency, the program has seen significant success due to this support, achieving tangible results in its mission to bolster the agricultural sector and develop rural regions.
Majed Al-Buraikan, assistant secretary-general for media and communication at Saudi Reef, highlighted several key pillars of the program that contribute to these advancements: developing agricultural and livestock production, empowering women in rural areas, and supporting small-scale fishermen.
The initiative also focuses on adding value to products as a crucial step toward sustainable development and increasing income across regional communities.
Al-Buraikan emphasized that direct support, training, and certification programs are provided through the program to improve the quality of life in these areas while simultaneously enhancing the agricultural sector's contribution to the nation's gross domestic product.
This effort aligns with Vision 2030 goals aimed at modernizing and diversifying the economy.
