The Saudi Ministry of Tourism has recently inaugurated new offices in the Makkah and Madinah regions as part of its strategic plan to bolster the efficiency and integration of tourism services.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, these offices will oversee inspections, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, support investors, enhance service quality, facilitate coordination with government entities, and provide a more comprehensive approach to managing tourism services for pilgrims and visitors alike.The move reflects the growing importance of tourism as an economic sector in Madinah, where it currently employs 11 percent of the region's workforce, as reported recently.

Additionally, a strong performance has been observed in the hospitality industry within Madinah, marked by the highest hotel occupancy rate in the Kingdom during the last quarter of 2024.

Serviced apartments recorded an impressive occupancy rate of 48.7 percent according to reports.Madinah maintains its position as second only to Makkah in terms of average length of stay, with visitors typically spending about four nights.

These trends align seamlessly with Saudi Vision 2030's objectives to foster tourism and hospitality sectors into sustainable economic drivers capable of creating diverse employment opportunities.

The newly established offices are set to play a pivotal role in advancing these goals through improved service management and regulatory oversight.
