Saudi Arabia Upgrades Miqat Gateways for Pilgrims to Enhance Hajj Experience
The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites initiates significant developments at the initial entry gateways into Ihram state.
Makkah: The kingdom's Miqats, which serve as the initial gateways for pilgrims entering the sacred state of Ihram during Hajj or Umrah, are undergoing substantial upgrades.
According to recent reports from the Saudi Press Agency, these enhancements aim to improve efficiency and readiness in response to the increasing number of pilgrims.The development initiative is led by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites.
The commission has worked diligently to optimize the operations at these entrances, with notable successes during the last Hajj season.
Pilgrims experienced a significant reduction in waiting time, decreased from 80 minutes to 39, reflecting improved organizational strategies.
Additionally, the initiative achieved a 100 percent response rate regarding visitor feedback and recorded a service quality and satisfaction rate of 99 percent.Ongoing projects are focused on several key areas for improvement.
At Miqat Qarn Al-Manazil, detailed designs are being prepared that emphasize reorganization of internal traffic flow, expansion of prayer spaces, and the upgrading of facilities to provide better services for pilgrims.
Furthermore, efforts are underway at Miqat Wadi Muharram, where developers aim to enhance facility efficiency, improve visual aesthetics, and integrate the site more seamlessly with major transportation routes.CEO of the Royal Commission Saleh Al-Rasheed highlighted that these projects align with a strategic vision to optimize operations, ensure sustainability, and increase the capacity to accommodate more pilgrims.
He noted that the designs are crafted to preserve the Islamic architectural heritage while simultaneously providing an enriching spiritual experience for all visitors.
