Saudi Arabia's Ahmed Bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb: 27 Million International Tourists in 2023, Aiming for 70 Million by 2030
Saudi Arabia's Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, announced that the country welcomed over 27 million international tourists in 2023.
Al-Khateeb, who is also the chairman of the UNWTO Executive Council, made this statement during the UN General Assembly Sustainability Week at the UN headquarters in New York City.
He highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts to increase the number of international tourists to over 70 million by 2030.
Al-Khateeb has been leading the Saudi delegation at the event and has used his position as UNWTO chairman to boost the travel and tourism sector's representation in international forums over the past two years.
