Saudi Arabia and China: Collaborating on Urban Development and Housing Policies
Saudi Arabia and China held discussions in Beijing to explore cooperation in city planning, sustainable urban development, and construction technology.
The talks were led by the Saudi Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Majid Al-Hogail, and the Chinese Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Ni Hong.
This collaboration builds on agreements signed during Chinese President's visit to Saudi Arabia in December 2022.
Al-Hogail stated that the partnership aligns Saudi Vision 2030 with China's Belt and Road Initiative, which will benefit both countries economically on a global scale.
The text discusses efforts to strengthen cooperation between two countries in areas such as urban development and housing.
The goal is to bring in Chinese construction expertise to improve housing units in the Kingdom, contributing to the housing program under Vision 2030.
Both countries reviewed successful housing solutions and explored ways to facilitate the exchange of urban management experiences and best practices.
Al-Hogail, an official from Saudi Arabia, is in Beijing for an official visit.
He plans to meet with Chinese government officials, construction company heads, and bank representatives to strengthen Saudi-Chinese partnerships in the construction sector.
Additionally, he aims to attract international real estate development companies during his trip.
