Royal Commission for AlUla signs partnership with Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne university
The Royal Commission for AlUla has partnered with Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University to create the Jaussen and Savignac Center for Archaeological Research in both AlUla and Paris, as well as establish a named chair to enhance academic and archaeological pursuits.
This partnership is part of a larger initiative for AlUla's development and is designed to foster collaboration with leading academic and cultural institutions.
The key objectives of the partnership are to enhance skills, share knowledge, and cultivate comprehensive research and training systems, whilst creating a monumental reference library documenting 200,000 years of human history.
This collaboration will not only advance scientific research in areas like tourism, archaeology, history, and arts but will also support AlUla's evolution into a premier open-air museum and an international hub for culture and heritage.
An integral part of the agreement is the organization of an annual conference promoting an academic dialogue and a master's degree program in archaeology, cultural heritage conservation, and restoration.
These efforts aim to inspire a rich exchange among scholars, students, and Ph.D. candidates from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
