According to official data, Qatar's real estate market experienced a significant surge in early September with the total sale contracts amounting to 394.35 million Qatari riyals (approximately $108 million) between Aug. 31 and Sept. 4.
This marks an 18.5 percent increase compared to the previous week's figures, which stood at 333 million riyals from Aug. 24 to 28, as reported by the Ministry of Justice.
The weekly bulletin from the ministry highlights that out of the total sales during this period, 124.5 million riyals were allocated towards residential units.
The properties traded included vacant land, houses, residential buildings, mixed-use commercial-residential buildings, commercial-residential complexes, shops, and various types of commercial and residential buildings.
Sales activity was predominantly concentrated in Doha, Al-Rayyan, and Al-Wakra municipalities.
Additional notable activity was observed in areas such as Al-Daayen, Al-Shamal, Umm Salal, Al-Khor, and Al-Thakhira.
Major developments that contributed to the sales include The Pearl Island, Lusail 69, Al-Kharayej, Legtaifiya, and Ghar Thuaileb.
Looking at a broader trend, total trading volumes from Aug. 17 to 21 exceeded 308 million riyals, indicating steady growth over the past three weeks.
This growth is attributed to increased activity in both prime urban and emerging areas.
Monthly data for August showed that real estate transactions reached 1.13 billion riyals across 329 deals.
Al-Rayyan, Doha, and Al-Wakra topped transaction value rankings.
According to the real estate market area index, Al-Rayyan accounted for 39 percent of the total traded area, followed by Doha with 22 percent, and Al-Wakra with 14 percent.
Al-Daayen and Umm Salal each contributed 10 percent, while Al-Shamal contributed 3 percent, and Al-Khor and Al-Thakhira made up 2 percent.
