Qatar Airways to Launch Direct Flights to Saudi Red Sea Resorts in October
Bilateral partnership will connect Hamad International Airport in Doha with the Red Sea International Airport, enhancing access to luxury tourism destinations.
LONDON: Qatar Airways is set to commence direct flights from Hamad International Airport in Doha to the Red Sea International Airport on Saudi Arabia’s west coast starting next month.
This strategic partnership between Qatar Airways and real estate developer Red Sea Global aims to provide seamless connectivity for travelers looking to explore the unique natural and cultural attractions of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart on Tuesday, Oct. 21, with three weekly flights available thereafter, according to a joint announcement by both companies.
John Pagano, CEO of Red Sea Global, emphasized that this partnership positions the destination as a global hub for luxury and sustainability tourism.
The direct flights will serve to connect passengers with the recent developments in luxury tourism along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.Badr Al-Meerm, group CEO of Qatar Airways, highlighted the convenience that travelers can now experience by accessing these exclusive destinations through Hamad International Airport, which serves as the world’s leading airline hub.
The Red Sea International Airport has previously welcomed visitors from major cities within Saudi Arabia such as Jeddah and Riyadh, as well as from Dubai via flydubai flights since 2024.This tourism initiative is a key component of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, focusing on economic diversification through the development of sustainable tourism.
The current offerings include five luxury resorts, including the St. Regis Red Sea and Nujuma Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
By 2030, upon completion, it is expected that the regenerative tourism destination will encompass 50 hotels and over 1,000 residential properties spread across six locations on 22 islands, aiming to attract one million visitors annually.
