Qatar 2022: Panama travels to El Salvador in search of making history
The Panama national team travels to El Salvador in search of their first victory at Cuscatlán on their way to Qatar 2022.
The Panama National Team led by Thomas Christiansen traveled this Wednesday at noon to El Salvador, the first rival in the triple playoff date on the way to Qatar 2022.
"We all have to be ready for any opportunity in these three games. They are three difficult challenges, it would be very nice to add 9, we would take one more blow and one more step towards what we want," said goalkeeper José Calderón in the last training session at home, before he travels to El Salvador for the qualifiers to Qatar 2022.
Panama travels to the Central American country with a total of 23 players in which everything seems to indicate that the discarded are: Jorge Gutierréz, Ismael Díaz, Abdiel Arroyo and Eduardo Guerrero.
The match at Cuscatlán has a great meaning for the 'Roja', they have never won in that stadium in qualifying rounds, so it would be breaking history and starting to draw a better terrain.
"All the games in Cuscatlán are difficult, they are motivated, also with a little pressure. They are under pressure because there is talk that they are forced to win. And we have to be smart and play with the pressure of the rival," said Aníbal Godoy prior to this important match.
Panama starts a new challenge in this triple playoff date, they want to go to Qatar 2022 and will seek to win against El Salvador, the United States and Canada.
