The board will be chaired by Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman Al-Saud, Deputy Emir of Eastern Province.

The commission’s members are Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa Region; Princess Haifa bint Mohammed Al Saud, Assistant Minister of Tourism; Ibrahim Al-Sultan, Advisor at the Royal Court; Hamed Fayez, Deputy Minister of Culture; Mansour Al-Mushaiti, Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and a Ministry of Energy representative.

Earlier this month, King Salman issued royal orders establishing two commissions for the development of Taif and Al-Ahsa regions.

Al-Ahsa Development Commission will focus on generating qualitative economic investments to maximize the comparative advantages of the governorate’s cities.

Prince Ahmed said earlier the establishment of the commission reflects its natural, human, agricultural and industrial capabilities as well as its historical and cultural heritage, asserting that Al-Ahsa is home to the largest oil and gas wells in the country.
