Panama reached 1,522 deaths on Tuesday August 4 from the new coronavirus (COVID-19), with a total of 25 new deaths and a case fatality rate of 2.2%.
Likewise, the country has reached a total of 69,424 cases of
COVID-19, of which 968 correspond to new infections confirmed in the last 24 hours.
Today, 43,330 recovered patients are registered, 22,458 people are in isolation at home and 633 are in hospital hotels.
Regarding the hospital situation, 1,320 people are hospitalized in the ward and in the intensive care unit there are 161 patients.
To date, a total of 234,954 tests have been carried out to detect
COVID-19.

Cedeño, director of the Metropolitan Health Region, reported that the effective reproductive number of cases (Rt) or average value of the contagion rate went from 1.16 to 1.13 in the epidemiological week from July 26 to August 1.
