NEOM Sets Up Topian for Sustainable Food Solutions in Saudi Arabia

NEOM, Saudi Arabia's cutting-edge development, has initiated Topian, a sustainable food enterprise. The company plans to revolutionize food production, distribution, and consumption in Saudi using eco-friendly and groundbreaking strategies.
Topian's strategy rests on enhancing climate-smart agriculture, renewing aquaculture, exploring novel food sources, offering personalized nutrition, and ensuring a sustainable food chain, respecting the social and environmental governance norms.

This move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to bolster food security, mitigate climate impact, and target climate neutrality by 2060, backed by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.

Topian will be a nexus for scientists, experts, and innovators, setting a new benchmark in sustainable food production. It's committed to delivering food security through the 'More with Less' framework and 'Future to Table' concept, which seeks to address global food system challenges.

NEOM’s CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr asserts that Topian embodies their dedication to impactful, enduring change and will be vital in sculpting the future sustainable food sector.

With an eye on real-life applications for innovative ideas, NEOM’s Topian will work alongside investors, partners, and industry specialists to support the Kingdom's economic diversification and Saudi Vision 2030.

Topian has forged key partnerships with various local and global entities like King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and international firms to foster research and innovation in sustainable food production.

Additionally, Topian will cultivate local culinary sustainability and nurture Saudi talent through educational programs, including training and culinary camps.

Topian CEO Dr. Juan Carlos Motamayor confirms the company's commitment to NEOM's high-quality food standards and enhancing food security and sustainability, which feeds into Saudi Arabia's self-reliance and economic ambitions. Topian aims to address food challenges and set an international example by pioneering new technologies and solutions, upholding the Saudi Green Initiative and the UN Sustainability Development Goals.
