Minister of Tourism and Hyatt International Chairman Discuss Expansion Plans, Training Opportunities, and Infrastructure Development in Saudi Arabia
The Minister of Tourism in Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, met with Tom Pritzker, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hyatt International, in Riyadh.
Hyatt International announced plans to expand in the Kingdom by building new hotels and increasing their room capacity from 1,700 to 5,000 over the next five years.
Al-Khateeb expressed that this expansion would enhance the Kingdom's tourism infrastructure.
They also discussed opportunities for Hyatt Hotels to train and employ Saudi personnel, aligning with the ministry's efforts to empower Saudis in the tourism sector.
The minister noted that attracting international hotels like Hyatt is part of the Kingdom's commitment to developing the tourism sector and providing top-tier services.
The Saudi Arabian ministry plans to increase the number of hotel rooms to over 550,000 by 2030 to attract 150 million tourists and boost the tourist sector's contribution to the GDP by 10 percent as part of the Saudi Vision 2030.
The infrastructure development and excellent facilities in the Kingdom have encouraged companies like Pritzker's to expand in various tourist destinations.
