King Salman Park inaugurates Middle East's longest tunnel in Riyadh
The King Salman Park Foundation has completed the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Tunnel in Riyadh, the longest in the Middle East at 2,430 meters.
As part of the King Salman Park project initiated in the third quarter of 2021, the tunnel is key to reducing traffic congestion and is the first in a series of infrastructure developments since its announcement by King Salman Bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince on March 19, 2019.
Set to open on February 24, 2024, this thoroughfare offers six lanes and emergency systems, adhering to the Salmani architectural style and adding to the area's aesthetic.
The park spans over 16 square kilometers, aiming to enhance Riyadh's status with extensive greenery and amenities, including a Royal Arts Complex and museums. It will become a central hub for culture, entertainment, sport, and living, promising a greater quality of life for visitors and residents.
