Jeddah Airports Prepares for 1.2 Million Pilgrims during 2024 Hajj Season: CEO Mazen bin Mohammed Johar Announces Full Operation of Lounges and Facilities
King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah is prepared to welcome 1.2 million pilgrims during the 2024 Hajj season.
The airport's CEO, Mazen bin Mohammed Johar, confirmed that all facilities and lounges, including Terminal 1, the North Terminal, and the Hajj and Umrah lounge complex, will be operational from May 9 to the end of the season.
The operational plan ensures the safety, security, and comfort of pilgrims, with a standardized pattern of arrivals and departures to efficiently cater to all travelers.
King Abdulaziz International Airport has a total of three halls with over 411 passport procedure platforms, 440 luggage check-in stations, 56 loading bridges, 54 customs inspection devices, 29 luggage conveyor belts, 28 bus gates, and four health centers.
During peak periods, the airport will employ around 16,000 workers from various sectors to serve pilgrims and facilitate their faith journey.
