Islamic Affairs Ministry appoints 25,714 imams and muezzins
The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al-Sheikh has announced that the Ministry has appointed 25,714 imams and muezzins, under the contract system, in Saudi Arabia's mosques.
This comes within the Ministry's employing initiative which started on 1/6/1442 AH.
Dr. Al-Sheikh said that with the completion of appointing processes for the positions of male and female observers, advocates and guards, the total number of those who have been appointed since the start of the initiative for the contract positions until the current year 1444 AH will reach 45,000 employees of both sexes.
He also added that the number of imams, preachers and muezzins who have been appointed under the rewards contract has reached 24,180 since 1440 AH, in various regions of Saudi Arabia.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, since the appointment of Dr. Al-Sheikh, has carried out the largest recruitment process in its history, amounting to more than 69,000 jobs.
The Ministry also contributed to the employment of more than 4,000 female employees in its various sections, as it appointed several female cadres in its office and branches, as well as appointing the first female undersecretary of the Ministry since its establishment more than 24 years ago.
