Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing Majed Al-Hogail has approved the guidelines for fencing construction sites for residential, commercial and governmental projects for which building permits have been granted.
The new guidelines aim to regulate construction sites for commercial buildings and their external appearance by defining technical specifications that will be applicable throughout the Kingdom.
The guidelines stipulate that there should be no visual distortion during construction and proper urban landscape is to be maintained. Sufficient space shall be allocated for storing building materials used in the project, apart from separating workplaces from the outside perimeter.
The guidelines underlines the need to protect pedestrians and vehicle drivers by preventing any sort of encroachment on roads and streets, regulate construction sites and licensing them in accordance with unified standards, preserve private property and limit encroachment on public utilities.
