GACA issues report on performance of Saudi airports in November

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued its monthly report on the performance of Saudi Arabia's domestic and international airports in November 2022.
The report was issued based on 14 basic performance criteria, and in implementation of the strategic directions aimed at improving services provided to passengers and enhancing their experience at Saudi Arabia's airports.

King Khalid International Airport, King Fahd International Airport (KFIA), Abha International Airport, Al Jouf Airport, and Gurayat Airport ranked first in the report.

GACA has followed the principle of transparency when evaluating the sector's performance, which is divided into five categories, starting with international airports, where the number of passengers exceeds 15 million passengers annually. King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh ranked first with a commitment rate of 73%, while King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah came second with a commitment rate of 64%.

In the second category of international airports with passenger numbers of between 5 million and 15 million annually, King Fahd International Airport ranked first with a commitment rate of 91%, while Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport had a commitment rate of 82%.

As for the third category of international airports, where the number of passengers ranged between 2 million and 5 million annually, Abha International Airport ranked first with a 100% commitment rate, while King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport in Jazan came second with a commitment rate of 88%.

Meanwhile, Al-Jouf Airport ranked first in the fourth category for international airports that receive less than 2 million passengers annually, with a 100% commitment rate.

In the fifth category for domestic airports, Gurayat Airport came first, achieving a score of 100%, outperforming all competing airports in the total average waiting times for departures and arrivals.

GACA relies on 14 basic criteria to measure performance, most notably, the time spent on travel procedures, passport processing, and in the customs area. This is in addition to criteria related to people with disability and several other criteria in accordance with best international practices.
