Medina Residents Celebrate “Faisal bin Salman” in Recognition of His Contributions

The residents of Medina celebrated His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in an event held last night entitled "Hayat Tayyeba," in honor of His Highness's journey and in appreciation of his efforts during his tenure as governor of the region. The event was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Medina region, his deputy His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Khalid bin Faisal, Their Excellencies, and distinguished guests from the region's residents and notables.
The ceremony showcased the highlights of the development journey led by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman over the past decade, from 2013 to 2023, which included a wide range of developmental and urban projects throughout the Medina region. These initiatives served humanity, focusing on education, health, and working towards building a community rich in culture and faith in the city of the Prophet. His Highness also supported programs and initiatives that enhanced the experience of visitors to the second holy mosque.

In the ceremony, the royal princes viewed a mural that reflected the testimonies of the locals on the cultural, social, and economic achievements recorded over a decade. These advances came under the care and attention of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince - may God preserve them - for the city that is both the migration destination and the burial place of the noble Prophet.

Following that, a speech given by His Excellency Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Hajjar on behalf of the residents of the Medina region commenced the event. He reviewed the significant progress experienced in the area across various fields, including social, economic, health, educational, cultural, and environmental aspects. The advancements were attributed to the wise leadership's support and the diligent efforts and leadership of Prince Faisal bin Salman, guiding the journey of development in the blessed city effectively and faithfully.

Dr. Hajjar acknowledged the people's gratitude as Medina bid farewell to the "humanitarian prince," praising his modest and noble character and commemorating the landmarks he achieved. Among these were the close supervision of affairs at the Prophet's Mosque, the expansion project of Quba Mosque, as well as numerous cultural, social, and charitable projects characterized by creative innovation. Notable among them were the "Humanized Medina" program, the Orphans' Palm Grove, the Healing Waqf, Al-Salam Hospital, the Autism Center, neighborhood centers, the King Abdulaziz Waqf Libraries Complex, the development of Islamic historical sites, the rehabilitation of Al-Aqiq and Qana Valleys, as well as his participation and follow-up on cultural, intellectual, scientific, social, and charitable forums and initiatives that have positively impacted the life of the Medina community and its esteemed visitors.

During his speech, Dr. Bandar Hajjar congratulated His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz on the royal trust bestowed upon him by appointing him as the Governor of the Medina region, continually cared for by the wise leadership over the decades. He prayed to God Almighty for success in His Highness's service to Medina and continued the march of development.

Subsequently, the audience watched a documentary that narrated the achievements of the region over the last ten years and the stages of development and prosperity covering various aspects of human service and place development.

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz received a special copy of the book "Hayat Tayyeba," a 127-page documentation of His Highness’s service to faith, humanity, and urban development. Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz received a special gift from Prince Faisal bin Salman, which was a copy of the encyclopedia of construction of the Prophet's holy mosque.

The ceremony also marked the announcement of naming Al-Safiyah roundabout as "Prince Faisal bin Salman Roundabout," along with the launch of the "Prince Faisal bin Salman Chair for the Humanization of Cities" and introducing Prince Faisal bin Salman's name to the "Tamkeen" Autism Center in Medina.

In response, Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz expressed his pride in this recognition and extended his thanks to the people of Medina, who were the best of support in fulfilling his duties towards this precious city, an integral part of a great nation that spares no effort in the upliftment and development of its people.
