Saudi Arabia Concludes Arab Badminton Championships in Riyadh with a Flurry of Medals and Honors

The Saudi Arabian Badminton Federation, headed by Mr. Muqrin Al-Muqrin, celebrated the conclusion of the 2024 Arab Badminton Championship for Youth and General Categories, hosting the event in Riyadh. The championship, featuring participation from 15 countries with over 100 male and female players, spanned over five days.
In the mixed doubles under-19 category, Saudi Arabia triumphed with the gold medal, while Algeria clinched the silver, and Egypt secured the bronze. The men's singles contest witnessed Egypt's victory with the top spot, followed by Syria shining in second place and Algeria taking home the bronze.

The women's singles competition was topped by Egypt with a gold medal performance. Behind them, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan clinched the silver, while Syria proudly collected the bronze medal. In the men's doubles events, Algeria soared to gold, Iraq claimed the silver, and Bahrain rounded off the podium with the bronze.

In the women's doubles, Algeria continued their dominance by securing the first place, while Jordan came in second, and Iraq finished third. The Jordanian team excelled in the young women's doubles, securing the gold, while Saudi Arabia took silver, and Kuwait grabbed the bronze. The young women's singles was also led by a victorious Jordan in first place, followed by another Jordanian placement in second, and Saudi Arabia completed the podium in third.

For the men's doubles youth category, Egypt emerged as the gold medalists, Syria followed with the silver, and Saudi Arabia earned the bronze. Additionally, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan ascended to first place in the mixed doubles general category, with Syria in second and Saudi Arabia in third. Lastly, in the men's singles, Bahrain took the gold medal while Saudi Arabia was adorned with silver, and Syria clinched the bronze.

The championship served as a podium for athletic excellence across the Arab nations, highlighting the growing prominence of badminton in the region and offering a spectacle of competition and sportsmanship that Riyadh was proud to host.
