Eastern Health Cluster Commences Two Air Evacuations from Thailand to Saudi Arabia
In a recent operation, the Eastern Health Cluster, via the Dammam Medical Complex, successfully managed the repatriation of two Saudi citizens, both in their sixties and seventies, from Thailand to Saudi Arabia due to emergency health conditions.
One of the patients suffered from blood sepsis and decreased blood pressure, while the other experienced a pneumonia that required CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). Initially, both were treated in a Thai hospital's intensive care unit.
This action followed the wise leadership's directives and was pursued under the supervision of the CEO of the Eastern Health Cluster. An urgent request from the patients' relatives to transfer them back home to continue their treatment in Saudi Arabia led to a coordinated effort by the cluster's specialized departments. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Saudi Embassy in Thailand, and the Ministry of Defense, the patients were received by trained and specialized teams at the airport of the airbase in Dhahran and were quickly transferred to the intensive care unit of the Dammam Medical Complex to receive necessary healthcare.
The Eastern Health Cluster has affirmed that the patients were managed by a dedicated medical team specializing in intensive care. One patient has stabilized and was discharged from the ICU in good health, now on the path to full recovery. Meanwhile, the other remains under medical supervision in the ICU but is reported to be in stable condition.
