The Municipality of the Hail Region has launched the "Ramadan Zaman" festival, which will take place over ten days in the traditional Barzan Market Street in Hail.
The festival aims to enhance urban engagement and presence in the area through a variety of events including entertainment, cultural activities, social gatherings, and local products. The event features the participation of numerous productive families and the nonprofit sector.
The official spokesperson for the municipality, Engineer Saud Al Ali, explained that the inaugural edition of the "Ramadan Zaman" festival is part of the Ramadan cultural events season organized by the Hail Municipality. The festival aims to revive the area's historical heritage and traditional practices commonly found in the ancient markets, and to acquaint the younger generation with their local cultural heritage. More than 100 productive families, practitioners of ancient professions, preservers of folk heritage, several charitable associations in Hail, a number of fine artists, and groups offering traditional games participate in the festival.
Al Ali highlighted that the event has attracted a significant and robust attendance of visitors and tourists since its commencement. It also aims to generate financial returns for participants from productive families and investors in exhibitions and shops through their daily sales. This contributes to boosting the region's economy and supports its tourism with the involvement of local youths. He pointed out that the festival endeavors to revive and restore the shine of Hail's ancient marketplaces, showcasing their unique, authentic folk heritage through festivals and events.
