The Saudi Arabian military is participating in the EFES 2024 multinational military exercise in Izmir, Turkey.
The first phase, a command-center exercise, took place at the Multinational War Center in Istanbul and the Joint Command Training Center in Izmir from April 25 to Wednesday.
The second phase, which includes live-firing field exercises, starts on Friday and ends on May 30 at Izmir's Doganbey Firing and Exercise Area.
Saudi military officials were welcomed upon arrival by Turkish and Saudi counterparts.
Gen. Adel Al-Balawi explained that the Saudi leadership values the development of their forces and is providing them with opportunities to enhance their skills through international military exercises.
Participating nations will exchange skills, train together on joint operations, and raise combat efficiency.
The exercise includes land and sea maneuvers, such as sea-landing operations, search and rescue missions, and drone threat responses, using live ammunition and various weaponry.
