A Chinese national, identified by police as 'one of the most prolific predators' in the UK, has received a life sentence with a minimum term of 24 years.

Zhenhao Zou, a PhD student, was convicted of drugging and raping three women in London between September 2019 and May 2023, as well as an additional seven victims in China during the same period.The court recognized that while Zou appeared to be a successful individual, he harbored a predatory sexual interest in asserting power and control over women.

Judge Rosina Cottage KC emphasized his manipulative 'charming mask,' which allowed him to hide his true nature as a sexual predator.

She further stated that he treated the victims callously and without understanding the concept of consent.Following Zou's trial, 24 additional women have come forward as potential victims, raising concerns that there may be many more undetected cases.

Metropolitan Police detectives urge anyone who has been targeted by Zou or believes they might have been a victim to contact them.

The case highlights the need for increased awareness and vigilance in protecting vulnerable communities from sexual predators.
