Europe's Role in Iran-Israel Conflict: Blame and Diplomacy
Iran's UN ambassador accuses Europe of enabling Israeli aggression, but remains hopeful for diplomatic solution.
Tensions between Iran and Israel have escalated to their seventh day, with both countries engaging in a series of missile and drone strikes.
Ali Bahraini, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, has placed part of the blame on Europe, accusing them of enabling Israeli aggression by failing to condemn it strongly enough.
According to Bahraini, Europe's reluctance to keep the nuclear deal (JCPOA) afloat and its inability to stop Israel's support have all contributed to the conflict.
He warns that if Europe does not act, Iran will target the United States if it intervenes in the conflict.
The ambassador has requested that Europe push Israel to stop its aggression and take responsibility for ending Israel's impunity.
Bahraini also stated that there is still a chance for diplomacy to reach a new nuclear deal if the fighting with Israel can be stopped.
However, he emphasized that Iran's current priority is to end Israeli aggression.
As tensions continue to rise, the conflict remains unresolved and diplomatic efforts remain uncertain.
