4IR Center in Riyadh's 2nd Industrial City Commences Operations
The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Center in Riyadh's Second Industrial City is now open. Established through a collaboration between the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), and the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), the center was inaugurated amid officials and tech leaders, including KAUST President Dr. Munir Al-Desouki and NIDLP CEO Eng. Sulaiman Al-Mazrou.
Under the patronage of the Industry and Mineral Resources Minister Bandar AlKhorayef, this launch aligns with an initiative to forge advancements in 4IR, enhance workforce skills, and boost both local and international competitiveness. With an eye to upgrading the industrial sector through sophisticated manufacturing methods, the center is part of a broader goal to establish five capability centers by 2025, providing specialized training and innovative solutions to CEOs and factory workers.
The NIDLP's greater vision is to establish Saudi Arabia as a top industrial and logistics hub, focusing on energy, mining, industry, logistics, local content, and 4IR.
In conjunction with the opening, tripartite agreements were signed to offer advisory and technical support to the center and help factories quickly integrate 4IR technologies, thus elevating the national economy and diversifying income through the empowerment of digital and technological advancements.
