4,800 performers take part in Founding March to showcase authentic Saudi culture

The Ministry of Culture organized the “Founding March” event on Prince Turki Bin Abdulaziz Al-Awwal Road in Riyadh, with the participation of more than 4,800 performers.
These included a military parade by the Ministry of Interior, performances of popular performing arts, and art models that represent Saudi cultural values and elements.

The Ministry of Interior and its security sectors presented a military musical show titled ‘Sacrifice’ through which it embodied the message of security that prevails ever since the founding of the first Saudi state, and safeguarding the nation’s security and safety until to date.

The ‘Founding March’ included eight carriages with innovative designs, each of which simulates an element of the authentic Saudi culture closely linked to the identity of the Kingdom throughout its long history spanning over three centuries.

The march begins with the innovatively designed ‘Al-Nakheel’ carriage. In the middle of the carriage, there are palm trees surrounded by agricultural soil, and on it farmers posing as if they are harvesting dates, and around them there is a group of women carrying baskets of dates.

The second carriage, the ‘sailboat,’ depicted a sailing boat with a bunch of oysters and pearls — one of the marine treasures of the Kingdom — while a fishing net was placed at the bottom of the boat with a group of sailors standing around it.

The third carriage in the march was dedicated to celebrating ‘Saudi coffee.’ It contained models of Arab coffee cups and dates.

The fourth carriage was dedicated to ‘weaving’, and it contained a giant carpet at the top. In its fifth carriage, the march celebrated ‘Saudi music’ with a lute, on both sides of which were lit musical notes with tambourines, and at the bottom were old sheets of musical notes surrounded by musicians on all sides.

As for the sixth carriage, it was dedicated to ‘Arabic calligraphy,’ and it contained a large illuminated manuscript and an Arabic calligraphy feather, surrounded by groups of artists carrying ancient lanterns and a feather.

The seventh carriage showed the beauty of purebred Arabian horses through several figures and purebred horses accompanying the carriage, while the last carriage highlighted the beauty of the green oases of the Kingdom to tell the story of the Kingdom’s natural diversity.
