Ziad Al-Musallam Appointed New CEO of SAMI Advanced Electronics Co., Overseeing Strategy and Operations with 30 Years of Industry Experience
Ziad Al-Musallam became the president and CEO of SAMI Advanced Electronics Co. (SAMI-AEC), a subsidiary of SAMI, in March 2021.
In this role, he oversees the strategic direction and financial profitability of the organization, managing its business, fiscal, and operational activities.
He also serves as the executive vice president of advanced electronics at SAMI since December 2021, leading the division responsible for local defense electronics development and production.
With over 30 years of experience in defense electronics and high-tech industry, Al-Musallam started his career as a design engineer in 1988 and joined SAMI-AEC as a test engineer in 1991.
SAMI-AEC, founded in 1988 and headquartered in Riyadh, specializes in designing, developing, manufacturing, maintaining, and repairing advanced systems and products in defense and aerospace, ICT, security, and energy sectors.
Al-Musallam, the new CEO, previously held executive positions including senior vice president of engineering and development (2014-2017) and acting general manager of the energy business unit (2015-2017).
He aims to strengthen SAMI-AEC's role in achieving defense localization goals under Saudi Vision 2030.
Al-Musallam is the board chairman of Advanced Electronics Support Services Co. and the SAMI-Thales joint venture.
He is an active member of several industry committees and councils, including the Industrial Committee at Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, the Industrial Council at the Ministry of Industrial and Mineral Resources, the Consulting Council at King Saud University's Department of Computer Engineering, and the Saudi Council of Engineers at Consultant grade.
Al-Musallam holds master's and bachelor's degrees in electrical and computer engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh, and has earned management and leadership credentials from INSEAD.
