Tunisia receives 40 tons of liquid oxygen in Saudi aid
Implementing the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) handed over a new batch of medical assistance to Tunisia on Wednesday.
The supplies included 40 tons of liquid oxygen. The consignment was part of a total of 200 tons of liquid oxygen expected to arrive shortly to supplement the needs of the Tunisian medical sector for addressing the implications of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.Tunisian Health Minister Ali Mrabet, Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr and other officials received the aid.
In remarks to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Tunisian Health Minister expressed appreciation and gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s medical assistance offered to the Tunisian people. He noted that this stance reflects the Kingdom’s keenness to help the brotherly and friendly countries.
He said the assistance came at a critical time when the world is preparing to confront a new health crisis with the spread of a new variant of the coronavirus. It adds great importance to the Saudi aid, which could support the Tunisian needs in facing the pandemic, the minister said.
For his part, Dr. Al-Saqr said the assistance embodied the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the two brotherly countries and reflected the humanitarian aspect of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.
