The modular hospital receives an occupancy permit – no opening date yet
The modular hospital known as Panama Solidario, which was built to care for patients with coronavirus, received the occupation permit from the Municipality of Panama and the Fire Department.
Ricardo Mora, manager in charge of the project by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP), stressed that this permission certifies that the facility meets all the safety parameters for it to be occupied.
"It complied with all technical and safety regulations," he said.
Sion Atencio, national director of Infrastructures of the Ministry of Health, indicated that they were in charge of advising the MOP on the technical part of this work, work that they have been carrying out to date.
In addition, Atencio said that a team of nurses is currently evaluating and carrying out inspections so that the hospital complies with all sanitary measures in order to function.
Meanwhile, the Director of Works and Constructions of the Municipality of Panama, Antonio Docabo, explained that since last week they had been doing the inspection for the permit and complied with everything, so they were delivered yesterday after receiving the endorsement of the firefighters.
The modular hospital cost $6 million and is yet to be cleared to open for public.
