The ladder, in place since 2000, is powered by 24 batteries and serves multiple purposes.
Makkah: The ladder of the Holy Kaaba has been a significant component at the holiest site in Islam, present throughout the past 25 years.
The General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque reported that this ladder, introduced in 2000, operates on a system powered by 24 batteries.
Its design includes several essential features for maintaining the Kaaba's environment.
At the top of the ladder is a platform used to illuminate the interior of the Holy Kaaba, as well as central air-conditioning vents designed to cool the structure.
Additionally, the ladder houses three tanks: one dedicated to the washing of the Kaaba and another for return water.
These advanced features reflect the General Authority's commitment to employing state-of-the-art technology in maintaining the site, demonstrating a dedication to preserving this sacred location.
