Terrorist threats development on borders requires quick response from the international community

Saudi Arabia confirmed that the development of terrorist threats carried out by global terrorist groups and organizations that cross national borders require quick comprehensive response from the international community.
In a speech at the UN Security Council Arria-Formula Meeting on Transnational Activities of Terrorist Groups and the Terrorist Use of Unmanned Aerial Systems, which was held at the headquarters of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in New York, Saudi Arabia’s permanent representative to the United Nations Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel emphasized the Kingdom’s refusal and condemnation of terrorist works.

The systematic and deliberate violations carried out by the Houthi terrorist groups toward the territories of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to targeting the maritime movement and the international corridors, requires an immediate position from the international community to stop the repeated terrorist acts that targets the vital and civil installations, civilians, energy supplies, global economic security, obstruction of international navigation, and prolonging human suffering.

Dr. Al-Wasel stated that Saudi Arabia has contributed in supporting the current armistice in Yemen in order to achieve security and stability in the Yemeni territories.

He also said that the Houthi terrorist militia's violation of the arms embargo imposed on Yemen in addition to its use of more than 900 unmanned aircraft, over 450 ballistic missile fired toward Saudi Arabia, as well as threatening the maritime navigation and the international corridors by using more than 100 booby-trapped boats, 270 sea mines, more than 100,000 indiscriminate projectiles, proves the Houthi militia' disregard for all international laws and norms.

The terrorist Houthi militia group cannot build its capability in manufacturing the unmanned aircrafts via modern technologies without the support from Iran, which has been confirmed by reports of the relevant committees and teams of the United Nations and the Security Council.

Dr. Al-Wasel added that there is several of the UN Council’s decisions that focus on the country's stability rather than focusing on combating the terrorist acts, which are being committed by some components of these countries which leads to undermining stability and prolonging conflicts.
