Storms in Northern Vietnam Leave One Dead as Wipha Weakens

HANOI: Heavy storms in northern Vietnam have left one person dead and another missing, according to police reports.
The incident occurred when Wipha, initially classified as a tropical storm, transitioned into a tropical depression upon making landfall.
A 59-year-old man lost his life in Nghe An province after a tree fell on his house prior to the storm's arrival.
This province, situated along the coast and bordering the mountainous region of Laos, experienced some of the most severe impacts from the inclement weather, including heavy rain and flooding that damaged hundreds of homes and destroyed crops.
Additionally, four other individuals sustained injuries due to the adverse conditions.
