ZAGREB: A German toddler died after falling from a water slide on Croatia’s northern island of Rab, police and media said Wednesday.
The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the child slipped from her father's arms on the slide at the aquapark in Lopar and fell onto the concrete surface.
After the incident, the child was airlifted to the northern Adriatic city of Rijeka for medical treatment but unfortunately could not be saved, as stated by a police report.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently under investigation, with authorities determining the specifics of the incident.
Germans constitute a significant portion of the more than 20 million tourists who visit Croatia annually, primarily drawn to its picturesque Adriatic coast.
