An amateur-built glider powered by a “Paramotor” engine crashed today in the Skydive Club area in Marghem, in Dubai, killing its South African pilot, the General Civil Aviation Authority's GCAA tweeted on Sunday.
An investigation was launched immediately by the GCAA's Air Accident Investigation Division into the cause of the crash, which resulted in the death of the glider's South African pilot, state news agency WAM reported.
Last week, a single-motor passenger plane crashed in a parking lot in the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi due to a “technical malfunction,” causing one injury.
