KUALA LUMPUR: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, was honored with the International Tokoh Ma’al Hijrah 2025 Award in Malaysia on Friday, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
The award, which translates to 'Personality of the Year for Hijrah,' is presented annually to a prominent Muslim figure recognized for their contributions to Islamic causes.The ceremony took place during the celebration of the Hijri New Year in Kuala Lumpur and was attended by Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim, as well as Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Minister of Religious Affairs Mohammed Naeem bin Mukhtar.
Al-Rabiah received the award for his significant efforts in enhancing the safety and efficiency of Hajj and Umrah operations for pilgrims.This recognition underscores the global impact of Al-Rabiah's work, which aims to streamline and improve the pilgrimage experience.
